The Melancholy of Anime Blogging
The hot topic among anime blogs this week is how a lot of anime blogs, new and old, lack originality. They post multi-paragraph episode summaries, screencaps, and only include a few sentences of opinion at the end of their entries. I've realized that Petit Yume is guilty of doing just that. I'm part of the problem.
I'm going to try some new things to make this a blog worth visiting:
- First, the long summaries are going to be cut. By the time anyone gets around to reading this, they'll have already read summaries somewhere else. Besides, I don't even like writing summaries.
- Second, there needs to me more of my own opinion in what I write. What makes a blog unique is the perspective from which it's written.
- Third, I need to mix things up. Not every post needs to follow the same format. I can use lists, essays, pictures, etc. to make Petit Yume more fun to read. Also, I'll try to post more often than just when new episodes need reviewed.
Wish me luck!

The funny thing I'm finding about this whole "too many blogs" situation is that there has been more posts on that subject than any single episode I can think of ^^;
Really, though, if you don't like writing summaries than don't bother. There isn't much point in maintaining a blog unless it amuses you personally. Just write some comments or take the p**s out of it or something instead ^^
