Afro Gunso wa A-FU-RO!

I just saw the first 5 episodes of Keroro Gunso (Sergeant Frog), and it's so funny. The show is about an alien frog named Keroro. He's been sent to Pekopon (Earth) as an advanced unit to prepare for the planet's upcoming invasion. Unfortunately, he's found by a pair of kids, and ends up as the family's maid. To make matters worse, his superiors decide not to invade Earth and leave Keroro behind. They also abandon the remaining four members of Keroro's team, who are on Earth.

Keroro Gunso is a wacky, slice-of-life comedy. It's silly that the leader of an invading force is a house-keeping frog whose greater love is building Gundam models. We've met two other members of his team so far: Tamama, the bubbly Private with a dangerous split-personality; and Corporal Giroro, a warrior who still plans for the invasion. Then there's the family Keroro is staying with. The mother thinks it's cool that they have an alien guest; the son, Fuyuki, thinks of Keroro as his friend; but the daughter, Natsumi, dislikes Keroro and treats him badly. Poor Keroro.

This is a great series, with tons of in-jokes about other anime, especially Gundam. Very recommend if you want a good laugh. And who can resist the ending, with an afro-wearing Keroro and his team members disco dancing?
